i guess having a blackberry doesn't neccessarily mean i'll try to update more often. oops.
this update is to give a brief view of my life these past few months. first off, i can gladly say that lsats, applications, waiting for decisions (at least some of them) are finally over.
i. am. so. relieved.
after the disappointment i experienced during last year's application season i didn't know what i would've done if i hadn't gotten into law school again this time around. in celebration of the recent winter olympics (which i watched almost every single night :D ) i'd like to give my current results in the form of medals! how fun!
gold (acceptances) = 2
silver (wait-listed) = 1
bronze (denied) = 2
silver (wait-listed) = 1
bronze (denied) = 2
although i'm still waiting for a bunch of other schools, i know that come this fall, i will definitely be starting my first year at a law school. my first of three years to be exact. now that this piece of the puzzle is set, i can focus on one of the goals i've had for a good...four years. it's time to travel to japan! i've been given the okay and i don't think i'll be having problems financially so this summer i will finally be able to travel to japan and do all the things i've had in mind for the past four long years (well maybe not everything...i exaggerated hehee). the final step is to the buy the ticket and then celebrate.
i can not wait to plan for this trip where i can visit j in kumamoto and m in shikoku (though the travel time will probably kill me lol), chill with co-workers from kinokuniya even when we're not in nyc xD, and try to meet all the exchange students i've gotten to know over the years! there's no doubt my trip will be a long but rewarding one.
i'll end this post with a short explanation of the quote i entered as the title:
this quote was taken from a japanese ドラマ (drama) that i recently watched called 筆談ホステス (hitsudan hostess). it was a one-episode drama special detailing the life of a hostess who was able to overcome her disability of being deaf, eventually earning the title of the #1 hostess in ginza (an upscale district in tokyo, japan). her path to becoming the #1 hostess was filled with obstacles until she learned to charm her customers by writing down her witty remarks, catchy phrases, and quotes full of wisdom since she could not speak properly. this quote particularly stood out because it takes the first kanji 辛(い) (tsura(i) = hardships) and adds just one more stroke to form 幸(せ) (shiawa(se) = happiness), completely changing it's meaning. the quote roughly translates to 'the hardships you experience are just still on their way to becoming happiness'. this quote made me realize that eventually, the pieces will all fall into place. it will all work out in the end. i got into law school and now i'm a step closer to going to japan. it took a bit of time but better late than never, right? haha.
